The History of Journey’s End

Ruth lake was created in 1962 by the Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District. This establishment started its life as "Lindsey's Lakeside Tavern" according to this early 1960's postcard pictured. The name changed in the late 1970's to the Ruth Lakeside Resort. Finally, The name became known as "The Journey's End" in the late 1980's.

The current owner, Trish Greggi, acquired The Journey's End in December of 1998.

Located 60 miles east of Fortuna, California near beautiful and secluded Ruth Lake, The Journey's End is the destination of many campers, boaters, fishermen and vacationers from the northern California coastal cities. These vacationers make the pilgrimage to escape the perennial summer fog.

The Journey's End is a full service facility in the Ruth Lake area. Journey's opens in early April and stays open until hunting season ends in late October. Journey's is closed during the winter months. We hope you'll find what your looking for at our friendly establishment.
